Game amusement arcade in Japan.
This blog is for next class.
I’ll introduce “a game amusement arcade” and “a video games” in Japan”.
Firstly, I’m gonna introduce game amusement arcades in Japan.
There are many game amusement arcades which are like a department store.
Example:
CLUB SEGA has a basement and 5 floors. This means whole floors of the building have all video games!! Each floor has different types of games. B1F: Fighting Games (i.e Street FIghter) 1F: Claw crane games ( calls UFO catcher in Japanese) 2F: Rhythm games (DDR, Taiko: Drum Master 3F:Another Fighting Games 4F:Video games (except Fighting games) 5F:Under construction
Taiko: Drum Master (You knoe DDR which uses foots, but this game uses hands to play)
Taiko is a japanese traditional drums.
The player uses a simulated taiko drum sticks to play the notes of a chosen song’s drum part as they are displayed on the screen. Some freaks of this game use both taiko drums in once time.
Gumdam is one of the famous giant robot animations (1979~) in Japan. Many young boys loves it!! (but I’m not). The gumdam animation series are still continuing on TV now.
There is a small booth to play the game. Each player can be a pilot of Gundam (giant robot).
This arcade is a team-based online FPS(First-person shooter) up to 8 vs 8(people).
There is a large display inside. Its shape is almost hemisphere.

Wow, lots of things I don’t know about gaming in Japan, especially that Landwalker project. I really thought that was impractical since other anime series mention that a rollerwheel (like in Wall-E) is a lot more efficient in ground units – that crush my hope of seeing real gundam
Now it’s revived!
Taiko no Tatsujin rules!
